Honoured at the Female Director Generals' Awards & Appreciation Dinner on 16 September at the Niger State Teachers Professional Development Institute, Minna, themed around recognising service, empowering people and building a stronger Niger State.

6th SPHPN & 37th PAPHNON Joint Conference

Represented NiCare and Niger State at the joint conference of the Society for Public Health Professionals of Nigeria and the Professional Association of Public Health Nurses of Nigeria, themed Public Health in a Changing World: Innovation, Equity and Global Health Security.

Leading Public Sector Transformation in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

Took part in the African Centre for Tax and Governance (ACTG) executive training, including a close look at IREMBO, Rwanda's one-stop platform for government services, and drew lessons for health insurance administration in Niger State.

Technology adoption is only half the story. The real work is building the institutional readiness (data, people, systems, leadership) to use it responsibly.

First Lady and 25 LGA Vice Chairpersons unveiled as Health Insurance Ambassadors

NiCare unveiled Her Excellency, Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago, First Lady of Niger State, and the Vice Chairpersons of all 25 Local Government Areas as Health Insurance Ambassadors. The event also flagged off the drive to enrol 65,000 more vulnerable residents under the Basic Health Care Provision Fund and launched two new NiCare theme songs.

Universal Health Coverage, to me, has always been a political decision before it is a technical one.

Award of Excellence from the National Health Fellows

The Niger State National Health Fellows (Cohort 2.0) proposed a partnership on community sensitisation, enrolment support, field-level data collection and monitoring across all 25 LGAs, and presented him with an Award of Excellence for strengthening healthcare delivery and expanding health insurance coverage.

The National Health Fellows have a unique advantage of being close to the communities. Their involvement will complement our efforts by providing independent feedback, strengthening accountability, and supporting evidence-based interventions.

London Tech Week 2026

Joined innovators, technology leaders and policymakers from around the world at London Tech Week, exchanging ideas on technology and the future of public services.

Advancing UHC through Joint Strategic LGA Leadership

Co-organised, with the Niger State Ministry of Health and World Bank support, a two-day policy dialogue (7–8 May) for LGA Chairmen, Directors of PHC and health sector stakeholders, and joined the panel on Navigating Financial Autonomy at LGA Level. The dialogue ended with actionable recommendations and a peer-learning network among zonal coordinators.

Study tour of the National Health Insurance Authority of Ghana

Following a leadership retreat for CEOs of State Social Health Insurance Agencies in Accra, joined his peers at Ghana's NHIA, hosted by Chief Executive Dr Victor Bampoe, drawing transferable lessons on coverage expansion, claims management and system efficiency.
